Interior Architecture

From the very beginning, we – the team from Atelier Brückner – were fascinated by the phenomenal pattern book collection of the newly founded Bavarian state museum and by the challenge of making this unique treasure of more than a million cloth patterns accessible to the public.

We wanted to allow visitors to immerse themselves in this creative universe of materials and colours. Following the draft of the content, we developed a design concept with a largely self-explanatory circuit illustrating the production process from the raw material right through to the finished article of clothing, flanked by chronologically ordered cubes presenting the turbulent history of the textile industry from the hand loom to the high-tech weaving machine.
